I purchased Hard Drive Mechanic. I am a network engineer, teach in the computer science division at a college and have my own consulting business. I have come across many problems that appear to have no explanation for cause and sometimes no FIX either. I was working on a machine for a company that had a "hard drive crash". All their accounting information was on there with no backup. Couldn't access the drive no matter what utilities I tried. thought it was a gonner for sure. I tried Norton Util, MicroScope, etc., and no luck. At my local computer store Ind saw they had Hard Drive Mechanic, figured I had nothing to loose and my customer obviously couldn't be in any worst condition. I purchased it, I booted from the floppy, and amazingly it repaired the drive. All the info was there and I backed it up on tape for the more than grateful customer. Hard Drive Mechanic made me look very good and I am sure I will be getting recommendations from him now. I feel more confident knowing that if it's at all possible to recover a drive, I now have the right tools. What else can a technician ask for (and reasonable priced to boot). |
