Overview

Aspose.Editor is a new breed of a .NET word processing control for ASP.NET and Windows Forms applications. Aspose.Editor displays, edits and prints documents a lot like Microsoft Word, but inside your application. OOXML, DOC, RTF, WordprocessingML, OpenDocument and HTML documents are supported with a unique feature of lossless editing even for complex documents.

Online Word Processor

Aspose.Editor is a .NET control and works seamlessly in any ASP.NET or Windows Forms application.

Advanced Editing
Aspose.Editor supports lossless editing which ensures that none of the complex document elements and formatting is lost when you open, edit or save files. Also all standard keyboard and mouse commands for editing and navigation, clipboard operations and unlimited Undo and Redo are supported. In addition to this, users can easily insert line, paragraph, page, column and section breaks (all types of sections and Multiple Text Columns are supported). Find and Replace is also available as a built-in dialog box or via the programming interface. Advanced formatting features like Tables and Styles are also supported. Aspose.Editor provides spell checking features via third-party components as well as support for Zoom and Auto Zoom, Print and Preview, and displaying Formatting Marks. The editor may also be easily switched to read-only mode.

Rich Formatting
Aspose.Editor allows you to apply rich character formatting to any fragment of text and specify most of the common paragraph formatting. Also you can easily apply and create paragraph and character styles and specify page size, margins and orientation per section or for a complete document. In addition to this, you can configure multiple text columns of custom or equal width per section. A specially designed page layout engine renders the document into pages and lines to resemble how Microsoft Word does it. Our engineers spend countless hours to make sure documents in Aspose.Editor look exactly like in Microsoft Word.

Multiple File Formats
Aspose.Editor supports DOC files created in Microsoft Word 97 - 2007 and other applications, OOXML, RTF, WordprocessingML, HTML/XHTML documents and plain text files. In addition to this, Aspose.Editor can save documents in the OpenDocument format and also integrate with Aspose.Pdf to create PDF documents with a high degree of accuracy. You can easily render document pages onto any .NET Graphics object to produce any size/resolution TIFF, PNG, JPEG and BMP images as well as EMF metafiles.

Familiar Programming Model
Aspose.Editor exposes rich API allowing developers to build or modify documents and formatting with ease. To make programming easier, Aspose.Editor Object Model borrows from the past. It is built to look and behave like Microsoft Word Automation. Aspose.Editor currently has around 50 public types in the object model and there will be many more to come. If you are familiar with Microsoft Word Automation, you will be immediately familiar with most classes and members in Aspose.Editor. Even if you have not used Microsoft Word Automation, it is a good API to model because it is widespread and has withstood the test of time.

No Microsoft Word Automation
Aspose.Editor does not require Microsoft Office to be installed on the machine in order to work. All Aspose components are totally independent and are not affiliated with, nor authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Microsoft Corporation.
