Who's Calling turns your PC into a high-tech CallerID
(CID) box with advanced features. It even works for users who don't have CID services by
dialling out to a phone company service and getting the caller information.
It's easy to install and use, working with CID service to audibly
announce incoming calls by speaking the number, record caller information, block unwanted calls, email call notifications, and more.
You can even see a picture of your caller POP UP if you
have CallerID.
You can create a list of callers to block. When a blocked number is received, the phone is simply disconnected. Recorded calls can be added to a phone book then selected and automatically
dialled to return phone calls. If you have a
Slimp3 or
Squeezebox player, then you can view
CallerID data on your Slimp3 players screen. Complete online help makes it simple to tweak settings and have Who's Calling running properly in just a few minutes.
Note: Whos calling doesn't use an MsAgent character which makes it
a lot faster at speaking and displaying call data than other
speaking CallerID software.

What's new in the latest version of Whos
Calling
Version 4.6.2, We ironed out a few bugs relating to Windows Vista's user
account control. All fully working now.
Version 4.6.0 and 4.6.1 UK Software have been working hard to get Whos
Calling fully Windows Vista compatible. It is not fully compatible even with
User Account Control turned on. We also tidied up the settings interface a lot
and finally added an option to keep the pop up caller display window on screen
for up to 60 seconds.
Version 4.5.9, Added a dial
feature to the calls log window. Also added a search feature so that you can
search your calls log for numbers, name and even dates.
Version 4.5.8, Fixed the random
caller being displayed with telephone numbers. This error was generated during
the fixing of the last issue below. All issues should now be resolved.
Version 4.5.7, Fixed the area
name show routine to work with modems and CallerID devices that don't add '-'s to
the telephone number.
Version 4.5.6, General updates
and minor modifications
Version 4.5.3 to 4.5.5, Added a new call notification feature.
Version 4.5.4, Fixed the missing red box issue in the telephone directory.
Fixed the date sort issue in the Incoming calls log area. Various other small
tweaks. Added call back feature to last caller pop up window.
Version 4.5.3, Fixed a small problem with pop up windows with false incoming
calls. Please make sure you choose the right CallerID formatting option in the
settings window for UK, USA or uncheck BOTH if in a different country.
Version 4.5.2, added a new
automatic drop down area which displays phone off hook and outgoing call
notification data. Finally updated the incoming calls log to have column headers
which can be sorted by any heading and also descending or ascending simply by
repeatedly clicking the column heading. The telephone directory has also been
updated and can also be sorted by column header.
Version 4.5.1, Added more
functionality for the CTI meteor users, you can now log outgoing calls, incoming
calls, and even be notified of Voice mail waiting on your Telco providers voice
mail system. On hook and Off hook notifications are now working fine too. Fixed
the incoming calls window from not appearing when there was no call data too.
Version 4.5.0, Fixed a small
issue with the Rochelle CallerID routine. Added support for a new CallerID
plug/device - CTI Meteor CallerID device. UK Software may soon be selling the
CallerID device and Whos Calling as a bundle. Added a feature to Check incoming
mail server before sending email, this is useful for some people using the email
notification feature who need to POP before SEND..
Version 4.4.1, Fixed a small
issue with the quick send fax routine to add the now required message ID to
faxes.
Version 4.4.0, Updated the pop up
controls to work with Windows XP SP2. Also sorted the incoming calls windows so
that the last entry is always selected, saving you scrolling through the whole
list every time.
Version 4.3.9, Added a button to
either group or un group the incoming call log entries for easier
reading/viewing. Altered the way you release the modem for other use, just one
click needed now instead of three.
Version 4.3.8, Added the ability
to import your Outlook tm contact details in to Whos Calling
Version 4.3.7, Fixed the bug that kept on showing unknown caller and a lot of
strange characters either during a call or when making a call for some people.
Version 4.3.6, Updated the Slimp3 support for the latest Slimp3 server software.
Also please read the notes about security and Slimp3
Version 4.3.5, Greatly improved the Slimp3 support to show time announcements
and much better CallerID display. Added SMTP authentication to the call
notification system for users whos SMTP servers need authentication.
Version 4.3.4, Whos Calling now
support the Slim Devices, Slimp3 player.. For more info, visit www.slimp3.com or
www.slimp3.co.uk
Version 4.3.3, Fine tuned to remote CallerID sending routine. Fixed a problem
with Rochelle CallerID plugs showing CallerID info for a second and then
reverting back to Incoming call notification.
Version 4.3.2
Added the ability to customize the outgoing email that gets sent when an
incoming call triggers the email feature. Take a look in the How to section of
the help file for instructions.
Version 4.3.1
Added a brand new and as far as we know unique feature.. REMOTE CallerID sending
or as we call it Remote CallerID viewer. There's a whole section about it in the
help file but basically you can transmit CallerID data from WhosCalling over the
Internet or a LAN to our new Remote CallerID viewer (a very cut down version of
WhosCalling) that displays the exact same details as WhosCalling displays and
also speaks the info out too, anywhere in the world. you don't need a CallerID
modem (or any modem) on the remote machine as it's all sent over the Internet or
LAN.
Version 4.3.0
Fixed a bug that caused some users to lose modem
functionality with the last update, this should all be resolved now. Also added
support for more modems and CallerID capability. Added a what's new section to
the help file, added new pop up alert boxes for better interaction with the
user. Finally altered the telephone directory so that you can amend/overwrite
contacts with new info instead of having to delete the entry and then re
entering the details.
Version 4.2.9
Updated the TAPI/CallerID engine to recognise
more modems. Added feature to email out on all calls and not just the ones in
the list and made other fine adjustments.
Version 4.2.8
Added a release modem option for people using
compatibility mode. Completely altered the scanning routine for incoming calls,
uses less resources and works a lot better.
Version 4.2.6
New feature, when you add a number to the
directory (whether through the POP up window or incoming calls log), the new
name associated to the number will be updated in the incoming calls log so that
you can see the name and number straight away. Fixed a problem with the update
routine that failed during downloading.
Version 4.2.5
Added an option to see what's new in the latest
version BEFORE you choose to download it or not. Added splash screen. Added
feature to close WhosCalling automatically (without user input) when installing
an update or new version. This avoids installation problems when trying to
overwrite running files.
Version 4.2.4
The POP UP incoming call window (with the
CallerID data displayed in it) has been completely re vamped and now has a
rounded off look. The colours of the window now change with the chosen skin
colour of the main window. The POP UP window has a bolted on look. Fixed a bug
in the Rochelle scanning routine which could cause it to stop scanning for
incoming calls completely. MAIN ADDITION: Who's calling can now show the
incoming caller ID data in YOUR language. It now supports 8 different languages,
this also applies to data you enter in to the telephone directory too.
Version 4.2.3
Improved the scanning routine for both modems in
compatibility mode and the Rochelle caller ID plugs. Odd data is discarded
faster and real incoming call data is processed better and faster.
