Free Evaluation License - conditions of use |
You may not produce any CDs for distribution.
With the Evaluation License,
On reaching these limits, Dynamic-CD terminates.
If you want to release these limits for a short period contact us for a Temporary License.
The evaluation Development Kit is a fully featured version of Dynamic-CD. The limitations noted above are removed by entering a purchased License code. Also removed is the starting text "THIS SOFTWARE IS NOT LICENSED".
Dynamic-CD Licenses |
| Each CD you produce containing the Dynamic-CD runtime carries an encrypted License identifying you or your company as the registered License holder. Please ensure you purchase an appropriate License for the Dynamic-CDs you intend to produce. |
Dynamic-CD is a professional tool for CD publishers. The Professional License allows the production of an unlimited number of CDs for a single content owner during one year. The Professional License allows a range of customisations.
If you want to produce a limited number of CDs and do not need to customise Dynamic-CD, we provide a range of other Licenses - Lite, Personal, Standard, and Gold. These Licenses (other than the Professional License) give an initial splash screen saying "Dynamic-CD is starting up". To decide which License is right for your use, check the table below.

The Lite Subscription License lets you use Dynamic-CD-Wizard on one computer and distribute Dynamic-CD on 200 CDs during the year after purchase. The Lite License does not support database-driven sites. The Lite Subscription License has certain limits - See below for further details.
The Personal Subscription License lets you use Dynamic-CD-Wizard on one computer and distribute Dynamic-CD on 200 CDs during the year after purchase. The Personal Subscription License has certain limits - See below for further details.
A Standard Subscription License lets you use Dynamic-CD-Wizard on one computer and distribute Dynamic-CD on 750 CDs during the year after purchase.
The Gold Subscription License lets you use Dynamic-CD-Wizard on one computer and distribute Dynamic-CD on 1500 CDs during the year after purchase.
The Professional Subscription License lets you use Dynamic-CD-Wizard on one computer and distribute any number of Dynamic-CDs in the year after purchase. See below for further details.
The International Subscription License lets you use Dynamic-CD-Wizard on one computer and distribute any number of Dynamic-CDs in the year after purchase. The International version of Dynamic-CD provides support for non-western character sets. If you want to produce Dynamic-CDs based on a single non-western character set, pricing is as for the non-International Licenses. Other conditions are as for the Professional Subscription License.

The Personal Subscription License has certain limits -
You can create CDs with more than 50 script files but files above the limit will not be encrypted. You can create CDs with more than 50 non-script files but files above the limit will not be password protected. The CD storage limit of 200 files is not a limit on the number of files that can be served (the same file is typically served many times). If you want to produce larger CDs, please buy a Standard, Gold or Professional Subscription License.
The Dynamic-CD Professional Subscription License |
The Dynamic-CDs produced under a Professional Subscription License must be for the direct use of you or your company.
The individual or company identified as the owner of the content of the CD - as distinct from the producer of the CD - will be required to have held a valid Professional Subscription License on the date of distribution of the CD containing the Dynamic-CD runtime.
If you act as consultant for third parties, then an appropriate License should be purchased for each third party (content owner) involved. In the special case where your use of Dynamic-CD is solely for the benefit of a single third party, and not for the benefit of you or your company, then only a single License is required.
This constraint does not affect the Lite, Personal, Standard or Gold Dynamic-CD Subscription Licenses.

Source code escrow |
If you want to use Dynamic-CD for a mission critical application, you want to be sure that Dynamic-CD will be supported over your application's lifetime. A source code escrow agreement gives you this security. If PHD goes into liquidation or is otherwise unable to support Dynamic-CD, then our escrow service provider, ComponentSource, will release the full source to you. To use the source you will need the services of C++ Windows programming specialists. You may only use the source within your organisation to support your use of Dynamic-CD.
PHD fully intends to continue to support Dynamic-CD. Indeed, the provision of a source code escrow facility shows that we are very committed to Dynamic-CD.

Any other refunds are at our discretion, must be made with 30 days, and are subject to an administration fee, provided you confirm that you have destroyed all copies of the License id.

Do I need a new License for each website I put on CD?
No - The License specifies the number of CDs that you can distribute containing the Dynamic-CD software. You can produce CDs with content from any number of production runs or websites so long as the number of CDs distributed is less than the number specified in the License purchased. However, if you hold a Professional License, the content of the production runs or websites must belong to a single owner.
If I have the Personal Subscription License, can I make as many copies as I want of
200 different websites? Or can I make copies of different websites but the total
number of copies can't be more than 200?
The total number of CDs containing the Dynamic-CD software that you can distribute is limited to 200. You cannot
make as many copies as you like from 200 different websites - you can produce a maximum of 200 CDs total.

Number of CDs per year
Each License specifies the number of CDs carrying the Dynamic-CD runtime that can be distributed to your customers in the
year following the License purchase. At the end of each year, a new License must be purchased.
The Dynamic-CDs you produce will themselves never expire - what expires is your right to produce Dynamic-CDs.
Number of content owners
The Dynamic-CDs produced under a Professional Subscription License must be for the
direct use of you or your company. The individual or company identified as the owner
of the content of the CD - as distinct from the producer of the CD - will be required
to have held a valid Professional Subscription License on the date of distribution
of the CD containing the Dynamic-CD runtime.
If you act as consultant for third parties, then an appropriate License should be purchased for each third party (content owner) involved. Startup Splash Screen
Dynamic-CD shows an initial dialog Dynamic-CD is starting up for a few seconds during the
startup phase. If you require to customise Dynamic-CD by removing the initial startup
dialog, by removing the Dynamic-CD icon, or otherwise, you will need
to purchase a Professional License.
External object support
The Lite License does not allow external objects to be created using the
Server.CreateObject
method. This means that with the Lite License, you will not be able to access the file
system with the Scripting.FileSystemObject, nor work with
databases through the ADODB.Connection object.
Encryption limitations
The Lite and Personal Licenses limit the number of files that can be encrypted or password protected.
You can create CDs with more than 50 script files but files above the limit will not be encrypted.
